Ingredients

  • 3 cups sunflower seeds, soaked 4 hours (4 cups after soaking)
  • 1 cup purified water, or more for a lighter mouse
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup lemon juice (important for color of dip)
  • 1/2 cup raw tahini OR 1/2 cup white sesame seeds (unsoaked)
  • 1 1/2 tsp high mineral salt
  • 1 Tbsp. onion powder
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne
  • 2 Tbsp. red onion, chopped
  • 1 to 3 tsp kelp powder (creates more of a tuna-like flavor) - optional
  • 1 Tbsp. ginger root, chopped - optional
  • 8 scallions, thinly sliced
  • 2 stalks celery, finely chopped - optional
  • 1/2 bunch parsley, minced

Directions

  1. Puree or blend all ingredients except the scallions, celery and parsley - adding extra water if needed.
  2. Stir in scallions, celery and parsley, pulse until incorporated.
