The Joyful Benefits of Green Juice + Recipes

Did you know that drinking green juice can have amazing benefits to your Joy Factor?

One of the many benefits of green juice is when you raise the alkalinity of your body slowly by drinking one daily (see recipes below), you start to access not only physical well-being, but also feelings of happiness, joy, and a higher satisfaction with life.

Why is that? When our bodies are nutrient-rich, and our bodies begin to clear toxins making the basal membranes more permeable through a diet high in raw vegetables and greens, we access true health. True health will give you a feeling of euphoria because that is your natural state–your birthright! 

How do you begin to access true health? Drink a green juice every day that has celery, cucumber, some kind of leafy greens such as parsley, kale, dill, fennel, basil, cilantro, sprouts or beet greens plus a little bit of lemon juice. Be sure to rotate the greens in order to get a full profile of minerals such as calcium potassium, magnesium, and iron. 

In less than 1 week you should start to feel the benefits of green juice. If nothing else, your body will use the extra hydration to cleanse your cells and plump up your skin.

Why is no apple or fruit included? Once the fiber is removed from the fruit, it becomes high glycemic which can raise blood sugar, feed cancer cells and contribute to diabetic symptoms. For me personally, fruit juice makes me feel bloated and tired as I get a “sugar crash”

Alkalizing Mexican Green Juice

  • 1 head celery
  • 1 large cucumber
  • 1/2 bunch (1 cup) cilantro
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 jalapeno


Italiano Juice

  • 2 bunches of celery
  • 1 bunch of basil (about 1 cup)
  • 1 small tomato
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice

Celery Lemonade

  • 1 bunch of celery
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup parsley

Skin Cleanser

  • 2 large cucumbers
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 5 leaves of dinosaur kale
  • 2-inch piece of aloe vera gel (just the clear inner gel)
  • a small piece of ginger root

 

 

 

So this summer, why not use the hot days to make a hydrating green juice your best friend? Add ice, lime juice, and salt and blend for a refreshing margarita style juice.
